On Tuesday, Kaiton had his well child check-up. He is in the 3rd percentile for both height and weight, which is better than his last visit. In the evening, Brooklen had hockey and I took the other three kids to the Woodcrest Roller Skating Party. Hurley had fun with her friends; she spent a lot of time with Evan Nicholas and they even held hands on the partner skates. Zaya's friend, Lucy was there and they skated together. Lucy had never skated before and Zaya was such a patient friend to her. Even though Zaya is a great skater, she held Lucy's hand and helped her skate a lot of the time. Kaiton wanted to be on his skates almost the entire time. I was so impressed with him. By the end, he was skating with just one of my hands.
On Friday, Zaya had a field trip for school at the gymnastics center. We called it her "crazy gymnastics day" because in the afternoon, we met her friends, Lucy and Nev, in Freeland for open gym. Then, at night, I took Hurley and Zaya to the CMU vs. BYU gymnastics meet. We left early so that I could take them out to dinner at Ruby Tuesdays. Though Ruby Tuesdays isn't anything special, they felt pretty cool getting to go to a sit-down restaurant and order anything they wanted. Zaya ordered corn dogs and Hurley ordered pizza. They also got fries and drinks and we ordered a chicken appetizer. The gymnastics meet was great. The girls seemed to really enjoy it and it was cool to get to sit so close to the action. CMU won the meet and afterwards the girls got to get autographs from several of the CMU gymnasts. On the way home, we stopped by McDonalds and I got them milkshakes. We had such a wonderful girls night!
On Saturday, Brooklen had hockey at 8:15am. After hockey, he came home and the kids all hung out and played together. We left at about noon to go to Saginaw. We went to check out some elbow pads at Peranis and then we took Brooklen to Jake's birthday party at the Freeland Sportszone. While Brooklen was at the party, we did our grocery shopping at Meijer and ran to Old Navy. After the party, we came home, fed the kids, and dropped them off at Thomas and Altas. Rob and I went to eat at the Grand Traverse pie company. We had a gift card from Rob's work and they were so nice at the restaurant. Afterwards, we ran to Dunhams and to Walmart to pick up a few things. We spent some time talking to Thomas and Alta when we went to pick up our kids, so we didn't get them home until almost 10:00.
Today, Rob had to visit the Saginaw Ward for ward conference. I got to church 10 minutes early, but I left the house a complete disaster. Alta had to speak in church, so I sat with all seven of the kids. After church today, I went to help accompany a choir that Jenny Lowe is leading. Her organist couldn't make it, so I came and subbed by playing the piano.
